Physics for Scientists and Engineers, 6/e Raymond A. Serway/John W. Jewett

Student comments (from previous semesters) range from excellent to poor.  Hence there is no one textbook which will meet universal satisfaction.  I think it is a reasonably good text although a bit expensive and a bit heavy to lug around with you.   If you find the presentation in this text inadequate in some ways there are a myriad of other introductory physics textbooks on reserve in the Physics Library .

• University Physics / Sears, Zemansky and Young, 6th ed.. (QC21.2 S36)
• The Feynman Lectures on Physics / Feynman Leighton and Sands. (QC23 F47)
